Topsoe's catalytic coating for diesel particulate filters

Topsoe’s BMC-211 is a new catalytic coating for wall flow diesel particulate filters offering the possibility of easy and cost effective regeneration of filters.

This unique catalytic coating, which does not contain platinum, actively reduces NO2 emission from diesel exhaust.

Application of the BMC-211 catalytic coating

The BMC-211 catalytic coating is applicable to silicon carbide (SiC) as well as cordierite filters and is ideal for 

• OEM passenger cars and light commercial vehicles for Euro 5 and Euro 6 regulation
• OEM heavy duty vehicles for Euro 6 regulation
• HD retrofits for worldwide low emission zones

Focal points

The Topsoe BMC-211 catalytic coating in combination with engine management offers a cost advantage in comparison to platinum coated filters. The regeneration properties are comparable and the NO2 emissions are significantly lower than for platinum coatings.

Topsoe's BMC-211 catalytic coating is well suited for systems with a pre-DOC upstream the filter to comply with the Euro 5 and Euro 6 regulation for passenger cars.
