Naphtha hydrotreating range
Topsoe’s naphtha hydroprocessing catalysts and technologies cover needs ranging from low to medium severity hydrotreatment of straight-run feed to processing of 100% cracked feed.
Our catalysts are developed specifically for naphtha hydrotreatment and our catalyst recommendation will be tailored to the specific naphtha application.
For new units a careful selection of process conditions as well as a proper integration of the different sections within the unit results in longer runs thus ensuring improved profitability for our clients.
Naphtha hydrotreating catalyst applications
Topsoe's naphtha hydrotreating catalysts are used in a variety of applications:
Straight-run applications
Sulphur and nitrogen are reduced to sub ppm levels to meet the requirements for catalytic reforming.
Coker naphtha applications
Based on fundamental studies of di-olefin saturation, silica deposition and recombination reactions, Topsoe has developed optimised catalysts and a novel process layout enabling better catalyst utilisation thereby increasing catalyst cycle length.
Pressure drop control
The cycle length in many naphtha hydrotreaters is limited by pressure drop rather than hydrotreating activity. Installation of Topsoe's graded bed catalysts reduces pressure drop build-up. Read more about Topsoe's graded bed catalyst portfolio.
Market experience
Topsoe has in the last two years licensed more than 10 units processing coker naphtha feedstocks.
Furthermore, Topsoe's naphtha hydrotreating technology and catalysts have been applied for more than 25 years as feed pretreaters to the Topsoe steam reformers in hydrogen production or synthesis gas plants. These applications cover both straight-run and cracked naphtha feedstocks and are designed for product- sulfur in low ppb range.
