At Topsoe, there are many career possibilities and the management is attentive to employee wishes – for example whether you would like to work towards becoming a a specialist or a project leader?
A resource from the beginning
When I started working with Topsoe, I was really well received. I was introduced to one area at a time, and my manager had made a plan for which projects I should follow and which assignments I should take part in. My first task was to make some calculations for an ammonia converter.
Complex calculations and reviews
My work is very varied: From complex calculations like those I did at university to dimensioning, choice of materials, drawings, review meetings and inspection and installation of converters on site. I have been on inspections with two of our contractors in Sweden and Italy, and it was very interesting. The engineers I have travelled with have taken time to explain everything you need to notice. Next time I am going to Georgia with a colleague from the Moscow office.
A steep learning curve
As a new employee you want to make a good impression and be a resource from the beginning, and that’s why you are constantly eager to learn. My colleagues take time to explain and I have the opportunity to learn and complete assignments. At the same time, it is very satisfying to acquire new competencies and new areas of work every day – the learning curve is very steep in the beginning.
I am in my right element here. And I can easily see myself in the company in the years to come. I have found my dream job!
