Here we have it all – work for the mind and work for the body, and I also have a say in my work. I love the variation: Some days I come home with dirty hands, others I have been in meetings all day, and others again I can dig into an idea I would like to pursue.

A small-scale refinery

When I work with the test plants it is like a small refinery. We test catalysts, carry out client experiments and help with the testing of new catalysts. It is my job to process the oil and make sure the experimental set-up is running, including maintenance and reconstruction.

Oil is many things

I have learned that oil isn’t just oil. The oil’s properties depend on where the oil has been dug up, where in the world it comes from and what is should end up as. I think there are people here who can smell the oil and determine where it comes from, just like some people can with red wine. I am still fascinated by the knowledge contained here at Topsoe.

A free atmosphere

There is a really good atmosphere here – when we work and when we organise social events together. In the summer we have the “Refining Olympics” with different competitions in the gardens.

I appreciate the free atmosphere here at Topsoe. You get the responsibilities you reach out for. And I also take part in the definition of my job.
